About the Abu Ubaydah Funeral Service
We are aware of how important having a solid support system is during difficult times.
The Abu Ubaydah Islamic Center developed the Funeral Service system, which offers consolation and relief by assisting families with the significant duties associated with planning a respectable funeral for their departed loved ones.
The Abu Ubaydah Funeral Service respects each soul’s journey and is based on Islamic teachings on life, death, and the afterlife. By providing respectful, caring support in accordance with Islamic customs and praying for Allah’s forgiveness, peace, and acceptance of the departed, we hope to lessen the burden on bereaved families.
How It Works
Membership & Account Setup
Joining this program requires a one-time registration fee of $150, which helps cover initial setup costs. $100 for the contribution, and there will be $50 annually contribution. This account allows seamless contributions when a Janazah service is needed.
Contributions for Janazah Services
When a Janazah service occurs, a $50 contribution from each member’s account helps cover the associated costs. Members are then notified via email or SMS to top up their balance , ensuring the fund is prepared to assist the community in times of need.
Peace of Mind in Times of Grief
Losing a loved one can be overwhelming. Knowing there’s a support system in place to manage the Janazah services brings peace of mind, enabling family members to focus on honoring and remembering their loved one.
Members: Muslim adults residing in Canada. Those outside of Ontario must provide information for their local masjid that will facilitate the burial service.
Family Inclusion: Membership can extend to spouses, dependent children under 25, and parents living at the same address.

The Abu Ubaydah Funeral service relies on the generosity of community members. Donations are used to maintain the program and cover unforeseen needs.
